Story
Hey everyone!
I have decided to take part in Sugar Free September to raise money for a charity very close to my heart Muscular Dystrophy. As some of you may know growing up my brother Zak was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, which is a genetic neuromuscular disorder which deteriorates muscles. Zak was diagnosed at only 11 months old, was in his first wheelchair at 6 years old and passed away at the age of 16 years old. Zak definitely lived every day to the fullest and was such a strong and brave young boy. I miss him like crazy. Unfortunately there is no treatment, no cure and no boys survive. Since then my mum has been diagnosed with Manifesting Carriers of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
What I am hoping for out of this is for more awareness to be bought to Muscular Dystrophy. Also to help support other families affected and improve the quality of life for all people affected by Muscular Dystrophy.
I have set a goal of $1000 for this challenge, please donate and help me reach it!
It's going to be a long hard month giving up SUGAR!!
Thank you so much for your support,
Farah Ghizlane Touilii
*Donations made through this platform are secure and will be remitted directly through to my charity of choice.*
